The temporary skate park at Rand Park has proven to be a great success! The converted tennis courts have provided space for our youth to gather, belong, build social skills, and exercise in a friendly environment. This has increased our recreation offerings to community members who might not otherwise have participated in organized programming.
The Council has recognized that the community would benefit from a permanent facility at Rand Park or another appropriate location. We look forward to working, through a public/private partnership, towards constructing a professionally designed skate park that will incorporate feedback from residents and local organizations. I look forward to having this space available for our youth to enjoy.
