Help and Prayers for Houston

On August 25, 2017, as we all know, Hurricane Harvey made landfall on the east coast of Texas. Even though Harvey has completely run his course, he has left much devastation in his wake. Our hearts and prayers are with all those affected by this storm.

In the wake of all the flooding, we have seen great acts of humanity from the American people in efforts to help those trapped and displaced by Harvey. We have seen the people of our nation rescue neighbors, pets and strangers. We have seen others give of their time to help collect necessary supplies to be sent to those affected. We have seen the generosity and the true nature of the American people.

If you too would like to assist the efforts to help Houston and the other areas affected by this storm, there are several ways in which you can help. You can visit the City of Houston website, or you can visit the American Red Cross, as well as The Salvation Army. You can volunteer. You can donate food, water, clothes, supplies, and other necessary items. You can donate blood, or you can donate to the Greater Houston Community Foundation. There are many ways to help.
