Last week, during Montclair’s Town Council meeting, the proposed 2019 budget was introduced. In this budget, there is no tax increase! The municipal tax rate will remain at $0.783.
If the budget is adopted in its current form, municipal taxes will not rise. Through aggressive cost-cutting and wise fiscal decisions, Montclair has been able to keep its tax rate flat instead of raising it by 2%.
