On Friday, September 16, 2016, Montclair was witness to a momentous occasion. It saw the STEM Magnet school, Mt. Hebron Middle School renamed and dedicated to one of Montclair’s most famous residents, Buzz Aldrin.
The dedication ceremony took place during the morning hours, and was attended by township officials as well as honoured guests.
Later in the evening, a dedication celebration was held at the Commonwealth Club on Northview Avenue. Mr. Aldrin made a special appearance and auctions were held to raise funds to support school STEM programs.
